Welcome to Kingfisher Class! We are a class of Year 3 and 4 children, taught by Mrs Weston (Monday- Wednesday) and Mrs Leveritt (Thursday and Friday) and we are supported by Ms Preedy in the mornings and Ms Preedy or Mrs James in the afternoons. If you are in our class we think these are the things you would like to know:
We have lots of fun and cover a range of topics. Here are some of the ones we have covered in previous years;
Australia, Rainforests, Romans, Egyptians, Sweet Treats and World War 2.
We have also enjoyed many school trips including:
Cadbury’s World, Calke Abbey, the Snowzone, KidZania, and a World War 2 day at Holdenby House.
We have PE every Wednesday, for which you now come to school in your PE kit ready. Please remove all jewellery especially earrings, or cover these with tape in unable to remove them.
Homework tasks will be set on a Friday through your Seesaw logins and need to be completed by the following Wednesday. We also have a weekly spelling (see the list below) and times table test, so get practising!
You need to bring a ‘named’ water bottle into school every day, however the children do have access to water at all times.
Throughout the year, we share photographs and school news via Twitter (@ClipstonSchool), showing various activities, inside and outside the classroom that we have enjoyed! Please visit us at www.twitter.com/ClipstonSchool and follow our page for regular updates (you do not need to be a member of Twitter, or follow us, in order to do this).
Our class also take part in the school’s Carol Concert, Harvest Festival and Easter Service, usually held at our village church. We hope you enjoy being part of Kingfisher Class.
