Kingfisher Class

Welcome to Kingfisher Class! We are a class of Year 4 and 5 children, taught by Mrs Weston and Mrs Leveritt and supported by Ms Preedy in the mornings. If you are in our class we think these are the things you would like to know:

We have lots of fun and cover a range of topics. Here are some of the ones we have covered in previous years;

Pirates, Rainforests, Water worlds, Sweet Treats and World War 2.

We have also enjoyed many school trips including:
Cadbury’s World, Calke Abbey, the Snowzone, KidZania, and a World War 2 day at Holdenby House.

We have PE every Wednesday but really need to have our kit in school all week, especially trainers.

Homework will be set on a Friday and collected on the following Wednesday. We have a weekly spelling and time table test. Every week we hold a reading raffle: once you have completed a book and read to an adult, you are entered and have a chance to win a small prize!

You may bring a ‘named’ water bottle into school (this is especially useful during PE lessons) however the children do have access to water at all times.

Throughout the year, we share photographs via email and twitter, showing various activities, inside and outside the classroom that we have enjoyed.

Our class also take part in the school’s Carol Concert, Harvest Festival and Easter Service, usually held at our village church. We hope you enjoy being part of Kingfisher Class.
